18th-century stone cottages

These two pretty 18th-century stone holiday cottages sit together and nestle on the outskirts in the hamlet of Rainow, idyllically lying in the foothills of the Pennines and on the edge of the Peak District. Attractively presented and offering lovely views across open fields, there are excellent walks from the doorstep. This is a great base for exploring other local interests. The charming village of Bollington with its canal is only 3 miles away, and is the start of the Gritstone Trail. Macclesfield Forest and Teggs Nose Country Park are within 3 miles. Manchester and the Trafford Centre lie only 30 miles away. Famous Chatsworth House, Bakewell and medieval Haddon Hall 20 miles, and only 12 miles away lies the spa town of Buxton with its opera house where you can take in a show or stroll the beautiful Pavilion Gardens. Arts, crafts, antique fairs and festivals are to be found throughout the area along with bars, restaurants cafés, home made cakes and delis combine to make this a place you will want to return to. Shops 3 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
