Enjoying a peaceful setting on the edge of the picturesque village of Foyers on the shores of Loch Ness, River View has been equipped and furnished to a high standard to ensure as comfortable and relaxing holiday as possible. This popular village, which is only 19 miles from the Highland Capital of Inverness, benefits from a pub/restaurant, post office, mini store, cafe and farm stall with further selection of amenities in the villages of Whitebridge, three miles, Fort Augustus, 12 miles and Dores, 10 miles. River View makes a super base for exploring this lovely part of the Highlands and is surrounded by forest walks, where you might see some wildlife including deer, red squirrels, mountain bike/cycle routes including the Great Glen Cycle route, and nature trails. Loch Ness shores (good monster spotting area!) and Foyers River are just yards away, both perfect for kayaking and canoeing. Recommended is a visit to the beautiful Falls of Foyers and Loch Ness viewpoint. Places of interest include Urquhart Castle, Culloden Battlefield, Fort George and the Caledonian Canal. Slightly further afield, a nice day trip could include Eileen Donan Castle, Skye or the fishing villages along the Moray coast with their quiet, unspoilt beaches. So much to see and do for all ages.
