Explore the Sweeping Landscape of Ireland’s Charming County Kerry
If there ever was a picturesque landscape that looks as though it was taken out of a classic fantasy tale, it is County Kerry. The region is truly a breathtaking image of Irish countryside. It is frequently featured as an iconic representation of the island. Peace and tranquility are found in abundance but are not the only bounty waiting along the lush hills and serene waterways of south west Ireland.

Touring Killarney National Park
Killarney National Park was the first of its kind established in all of Ireland.  The area has expanded significantly since it was first acquired, providing even more open space for flora and fauna to thrive.  Many are attracted to the area for its beauty and diverse ecology. Visitors can see healthy oak and yew forests as well as lofty mountain peaks and the beloved Lakes of Killarney.

Along with being a gorgeous natural paradise, Killarney National Park is also the only refuge on the island for the Red Deer. Access is available all year round. Travelers can delve deeper by stopping at the visitor and education centre located at Muckross House. The park is home to popular landmarks including the Dinis Cottage, the Meeting of the Waters, Old Weir Bridge and O’Sullivan’s Cascade.

Shopping on the Dingle Peninsula
Visitors who prefer less nature and a little more civilization can appreciate the offerings found on the Dingle Peninsula.  Low rising mountains ease into the sea while the streets are bustling with locals. Many retail treasures can be found here that are not available anywhere else. Fine jewellry and garments are available for sale in shops along Green Street.
If you tire during your retail diversion, a variety of pubs are open for business in the area so you can get a pint and a bite to eat. This is truly the place to take in a savoury slice of everyday life in County Kerry.

Annual Events in County Kerry
There are many all-season attractions found throughout County Kerry.  Ambitious adventurers who really want to get the full experience should find out which events will be hosted during their stay. The region is home to a wide range of traditional and modern celebrations. The East Kerry Roots Festival presents a cultural experience that highlights the heritage of the Sliabh Luachra region. Families can visit the National Circus Festival or the Puck Fair, which is known as the oldest in Ireland. There is no shortage of sights, sounds and experiences available to visitors exploring County Kerry!
