Lovingly furnished and equipped, this beautiful, detached barn has been built ‘upside down’ to take advantage of the stunning countryside views. This holiday home is situated in the grounds of the owners’ home in the pretty village of Grindleford - just a stone’s throw from the local pub and just a short stroll into the countryside, which offers plenty of walks from the door. Within a few miles is the popular village of Hathersage with its open-air swimming pool, cafés, shops, bars and restaurants. Also from here, visitors can take the train to Manchester or Sheffield for museums, galleries and shows, or stop off in Edale and walk the Pennine Way. Visit Castleton to enjoy a guided tour by boat through its caves, where the beautiful Blue John Stone is mined. The old market town of Bakewell is a must, as well as a day visit to Chatsworth House and its 1,000-acre estate, made famous by ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ or Haddon Hall. The famous of village of Eyam is steeped in history and this cosy property was once the home of the village baker during the plague of 1665. There are many references to this era in the village; plaques, gravestones, relics and also a museum. Also visit the Jacobean mansion, which is now a craft centre. Shop/P.O. 200 yards, pub 100 yards.
