Enjoying wonderful panoramic views over surrounding farmland and on towards the waters of the inner Moray Firth, this interesting detached holiday property (adjacent to another holiday property) has been equipped and furnished to a very good standard to ensure as comfortable and relaxing holiday as possible. The house dates from the 1860s and was originally a gamekeeper’s lodge to the Rosehaugh Estate and architectural features include whitewashed walls with exposed sandstone surrounds and crow-stepped gables, typical of Scots Baronial style. Tourie Lum, which means ‘towering chimney’ in Old Scots, is accessed by a single track and is located on the edge of the Black Isle fishing village of Avoch, overlooking the site of the historic Ormond Castle which is believed to have been a stronghold of William the Lion, King of the Scots from 1165 to 1214. The Black Isle makes a perfect base for exploring the many delights of the Northern Highlands. Visit the lovely villages along the Moray Coast or take a distillery tour along the Moray Whisky Trail. Inverness, the Highland capital, Loch Ness and Culloden Battlefield are just a short drive with the stunning west coast being an easy day out. The many activities available in the area include golf, mountain biking, water sports and boat trips, fishing, quad biking, walking and climbing to name just a few. For the less energetic, sit back, relax and watch the ever-changing scenery. Shop and pub 1 mile.

Living room with wood-burning stove and wooden floor. Spacious dining conservatory with wooden floor. Well-equipped kitchen with breakfast area and wooden floor. Double bedroom with 5ft bed. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. First floor: Double bedroom with 5ft bed. Twin bedroom.
