Converted from an old apple store, this holiday cottage stands attached to the owners’ Grade II, 18th century manor house. With 4 acres of peaceful grounds including a beautiful Victorian walled garden, an unspoilt woodland and two ponds, this is a perfect place to relax and unwind. A warm welcome awaits with a freshly baked cake from the owners’ Scarborough based patisserie on arrival and guests have use of the indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and external games room. Chafer Wood Nature Reserve is close by and Dalby Forest, popular for its mountain bike trails and forest adventure at ‘Go Ape’, is just a 10 minute drive. From Pickering, 6 miles, visitors can board the famous steam train for a scenic trip through the North Yorkshire Moors, to the ancient port of Whitby, renowned for Captain James Cook connections. Visit stately homes at Castle Howard, Nunnington Hall and Sledmere, abbey ruins at Rievaulx and the centre for Birds of Prey at Duncombe Park in Helmsley. Cycle hire, 5 miles, riding and golf, 1 mile. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
