The museum is home to an impressive collection of over two hundred aircrafts, as well as tanks, military vehicles and boats, so true enthusiasts will find that one day really just isn’t enough. The university city of Cambridge is not only picturesque but also offers many attractions. Opened to the public in 1846, the Cambridge University Botanic Garden develops and displays over 8,000 different plant species in 40 acres of beautiful landscapes. In addition, there are numerous museums including The Museum For Computing History, The University Museum of Zoology, The Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, the famous Fitzwilliam Museum and The Museum of Cambridge. Of course, there are also historic universities to be explored, many organised tours, punting on the River Cam and numerous shops, restaurants and cafés. For those wishing to leave their car behind, a train directly from the village of Newport will deliver you to Cambridge station in less than half an hour. Plus, you can travel from the same station directly into London Liverpool Street in around an hour, so you can enjoy a spot of sightseeing in the nation’s capital city. Also close by is the market town of Saffron Walden, with Bridge End Gardens and numerous shopping and eating opportunities. Add in a visit to Audley End House and Gardens, and Anglesey Abbey, and you’ll be really spoilt for choice. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
