Conveniently located in a quiet ‘no-through’ road, this detached holiday home offers the highest standards of furnishings and equipment. The rooms have been carefully co-ordinated and styled, and there are many additions such as a centrally operated stereo with speakers in all rooms, and a 6ft bed in the master bedroom. The enclosed lawned garden is a perfect place for enjoying a drink on a warm summer’s evening as the sun goes down. The Acorns is located on the edge of Wootton Bridge with walks to Woodside beach. There is a millpond at Wootton Creek; historically there was a mill which was used to grind flour. The creek is a haven for wildlife, as is the pond which is a Special Area of Conservation. Firestone Copse, adjacent to the pond, offers scenic walks and is Forestry Commission woodland – you may be lucky enough to see the famous red squirrels! Ryde, 10 minutes’ drive, has a long esplanade with plenty of attractions, six miles of sandy beach with children’s play area, ten pin bowling, indoor pool, ice rink, a high speed catamaran operating between Portsmouth and the pier head, pubs, restaurants, riding, golf, sailing, fishing and go-karting. The local steam railway offers a nostalgic ride into the nearby Smallbrook in Ryde. Explore the best of the shoreline along Heritage coastal paths or visit NT homes and gardens, Calbourne Water Mill, pottery, glass blowing, a donkey sanctuary, a zoo, Osborne House, the Needles, wildlife centres, tea rooms and craft shops. To the east of the island, discover quaint sailing villages such as Bembridge and Seaview, and within easy reach is Cowes. Newport has shops, eateries and waterside dining, and this leads to Carisbrooke, home of the historic castle. Visit picturesque villages such as Godshill, Old Shanklin and Brighstone, the Garlic Farm, Lavender Farm and vineyards. Theme parks include Robin Hill Adventure Park, Blackgang Chine or The Needles, wildlife such as the Flamingo Park, Sandown Tiger Zoo, owl and falconry and various farms to see the animals. Outdoor pursuits include walking, golf, riding and watersports. Shop and pub 500 yards.
