There is much to see and do in the surrounding areas; Afan Argoed Forestry Park is excellent for mountain biking and has been rated in the top ten of the world for mountain bike rides. The stunning Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains offer breathtaking scenery and fabulous walking, and there are several waterfalls within a 15-minute walk. Margam Country Park is well worth a visit, with its castle, 18th-century orangery, narrow gauge railway, deer, Fairytale Land and Go Ape tree top adventure. Visit Dan yr Ogof Showcaves which also offer wedding ceremonies. Quad biking, archery and paintballing can all be found in the surrounding areas. Slightly further afield is the stunning Gower Peninsula, Britain’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with beautiful expanses of sandy beaches, hidden coves and coastal walks.
