Close to York racecourse - ideal for families

Located close to the renowned racecourse and grandstand, this three storey Victorian terraced house is ideal for family holidays. Still retaining original features such as the tiled hallway and cast iron fireplaces, and yet with a modernised kitchen and bathrooms, with French doors onto rear court yard, the house makes an ideal base for exploring York. A 15-minute walk takes you through Rowntree Park to the city centre along the banks of the River Ouse. Crossing to the other bank over the Millennium Bridge you can go either to the city centre or Fulford and, further out, the designer outlet. The waymarked York / Selby cycle route passes close by, and there is lockable bike storage available. York has many events taking place throughout the year to suit all ages, and a leisurely view of the city can be taken by boat trip on the Ouse, a walk round the ancient bar walls or a birds eye view from the York Eye. There are numerous places to visit including the minster, National Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre and the York Dungeon. Shops and pubs 100 yards, restaurant 0.5 miles.
