Portpatrick Country Cottage is a delightful holiday bolthole adjoining the owner’s accommodation in a quiet rural setting, close to the picturesque harbour village of Portpatrick. It enjoys stunning country views and on a clear night, you can see the lights of Belfast Harbour! Portpatrick is a delightful conservation village, and one of the many jewels in the crown of southwest Scotland. The focal point of the village is the harbour, which offers a lively calendar of events such as Lifeboat Week, the folk festival and live entertainment provided by some of the hotels and restaurants. The area is unspoilt, boasting beautiful scenery and amazing seascapes around the Rhins of Galloway. The Southern Upland Way is a 212-mile coast-to-coast walk between Portpatrick to Cockburnspath in the east. Other local attractions include birdwatching at the RSPB Scotland Mull of Galloway Nature Reserve, where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer, and golf. There are many beautiful gardens to explore, including the world renowned Logan Botanical Gardens. The area is a cyclist’s paradise with the world famous 7Stanes within easy reach.
