Po House is an ideal retreat for a relaxing break and the perfect spring board for visiting the Lakes. This beautiful, detached, stone house is next door to the Old Chapel which was once owned by John Myers, cousin of William Wordsworth. The owner lives on site. Po House has been restored keeping its original character with original oak beams, exposed stone walls and locally mined slate. Enjoy beautiful views of the Whicham Valley, Black Combe Fell and the Coniston fells at the top of the valley. A paradise for lovers of wildlife and birds, the cottage is located amongst 5 acres of garden and woodland, and surrounded by fields in the Lake District National Park. There are wonderful walks from the cottage and just 1 mile away is the Irish sea. For a day at the seaside, the beach can be found at Silecroft. The Whicham Valley is remote, unspoilt and an idyllic corner of the Lake District, ideal for walkers, mountain bikers, climbers, nature lovers and those enjoying the peace and beauty of the countryside. The Duddon Valley, Southern Lakes and fells are easily reached, with Coniston Water, Ennerdale Water, Wastwater and Lake Windermere all within half an hour’s drive. Visit Muncaster Castle, La’al Ratty Miniature Steam Railway or the South Lakes Wild Animal Park. Horse riding is available nearby and beach rides are available at Silecroft. Massage and beauty treatments can be arranged nearby or at the cottage. Beach 1 mile. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
