Located in the highly sought after Peak District village of Hope, in the heart of the stunning Hope Valley, Netherhall Cottage can be found surrounded by some of the best walking and outdoor activities in the country. Dating back to the 1700’s, the cottage itself is Grade II listed and named after an old manor house that it was built on the site of, with some of the old stonework forming part of the building. The surrounding area offers spectacular views of the surrounding Hope Valley scenery, which stretches from the popular village of Castleton all the way to Hathersage, home to a seasonal outdoor swimming pool. Hope has a selection of cafes, pubs and shops and is perfectly placed for action-packed activities such as caving and climbing, or a quiet relaxing countryside break with great walks offered direct from the doorstep. You can choose to soak up the atmosphere of other wonderful Peak District towns and villages nearby, such as the heritage of Buxton, hidden caves at Castleton, or the pretty village of Edale, the start of the Pennine Way. Some of Britain’s finest country houses including Chatsworth Estate, Haddon Hall and Lyme Park are also easily accessible. Alton Towers and Carsington Water can both be reached in around an hour, and for those wanting to give their cars a rest or indulge in some retail therapy, Hope has a train station with regular services to both Sheffield and Manchester as well as the other villages within the Hope Valley area.
