This stone-built, single-storey, detached, Grade II listed cottage has been thoughtfully renovated making it a perfect warm, cosy base, with its beautiful beamed ceiling throughout and gas woodburner. Rurally located amidst beautiful countryside in the Amber Valley, and accessed via a country track, it is close to the popular, pretty village of Ashover - home to one of the Peak District’s oldest pubs, a CAMRA pub of the year and reportedly haunted by a couple of ghosts. This is an ideal base from which to explorie all that the wonderful Peak District has to offer. Chesterfield, with its crooked spire, is just 20 minutes to the north, and the town of Matlock, home to warm springs, Leys Hall Park and a cable car rises high above the Derwent river, is just 10 minutes to the south. There is excellent walking direct from the door, and even the opportunity to follow the Ashover Audio Trail around Ashover Village itself bringing the history of the village to life. Bakewell, home of the Bakewell Pudding and the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall, are just half an hour away, as is the spa town of Buxton with its diverse architecture and famous opera house. The enormously popular village of Castleton with its caves can be easily reached within an hour, as can Hathersage, famous for its associations with the Eyre Family and home to an outdoor swimming pool. From countryside to history, public house to fine eateries and shops, there really is plenty to see and do from this wonderful location. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/2 steps to kitchen with tiled floor. 1 double bedroom. Shower room with toilet. Most rooms with beams.
