Nestling in breathtaking scenery and adjoining the beautiful River Cassley, March Cottage offers peace and seclusion in a truly stunning setting. This spacious, detached holiday cottage is situated 4 miles down a spectacular glen that follows the path of the River Cassley, leading away into the spectacular hills. The cottage is impeccably presented throughout and has been granted a Green Tourism Award. The large open plan kitchen and dining room has French windows that open out to the grounds and hillside beyond. The spacious living room boasts a wood-burning stove, which you can lounge in front of and enjoy the views of the river and hills beyond. There are four beautifully presented bedrooms on the first floor, along with two bathrooms and an ensuite.
March Cottage is ideal for larger families as well as couples seeking luxury and seclusion in a totally unspoilt setting. There are superb walks direct from the door and the surrounding area is a haven for wildlife; deer regularly graze along the riverbank, ospreys and golden eagles wheel overhead, and pine martens roam the gardens. Situated in the heart of Sutherland, there are numerous places to visit in all directions. The stunning west coast is less than an hour’s drive away, and Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, is a similar distance. Shop 14 miles, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

Dornoch Beach - 25 Miles (40 KM)
Located on the Dornoch Firth, and awarded for its status as a clean bathing beach, Dornoch's long expanse of golden sands reach from Dornoch point, past Embo Beach to the mouth of Loch Fleet National Nature Reserve. Keep your eyes peeled for some local wildlife in the adjacent Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Biking & Hiking
Voted one of the top 10 walks by the forestry commission, this spectacular route through Raven's rock gorge runs under the canopy of fir, beech and spruce. This 0.75 mile trail should take you approximately 45 minutes.
Golf & Sports
This easy walking course set at the foot of the Ben Bhraggie in the Highlands of Scotland is a fine setting for a round of golf. Its clubhouse serves a range of food and drink overlooking the 18th green. Locker and changing facilities are also available.
This 25m swimming pool complex situated in the town of Golspei is also within easy reach of Brora, Dornoch, Rogart and Lairg. Facilities include a steam room, sauna and fitness suite.

This fascinating museum lives in a beautifully restored Thomas Telford Parliamentary Church which was built originally in 1829. Skillfully navigating the visitor through the history of Lock Broom, the museum also tells of its people, their lives and their experiences. Tain Through Time tells the story of Tains St Duthac and pilgrimage to his shrine. It includes the award winning local museum, sound and light show, cd tour of town, children's activities and a shop.
Carn Liath - 27.5 Miles (44 KM)
The name of this Scottish Broch (building) means "The Grey Cairn" and has walls that still stand 12 feet high in places. The entrance passage and lintled doorway are well preserved. An excavation in 1986 found a bronze age burial on the site, complete with grave goods.
Spend the day with the whole family at this great heritage centre. The interactive facilities and interesting exhibits are fun for children and are perfect for teaching the local history of this lovely area.
