Enjoying a superb location, standing peacefully along an unmade road only 50 yards from the beach, this charming attached holiday property dates back to the 1800s and combines comforts with period character features. The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area is accessed via French doors, which lead on to the enclosed sheltered patio garden, summer house and decked sitting-out area with sea views. The unspoilt shingle and sandy beach is great for crabbing, bathing and rock-pooling, and there is a wooded footpath alongside the property, meandering down to the harbour and sailing club, about a 5-minute walk away. Nearby are Forelands beach (AONB) and Culver Down (NT), an area abundant in wildlife and good for birdwatching. The village of Bembridge has a selection of traditional gift shops, post office, eateries, pubs and the NT windmill, Bembridge Ledge and Lifeboat Station. Bembridge Harbour offers sailing, fishing and fresh daily catch of crab and lobster can be purchased. There’s much to do throughout the year such as the ‘Walk the Wight’ walking event (May), Isle of Wight Music Festival (mid-June), Round the Island Sailing Race (June 30th), Cowes Week sailing event (August), Bestival (September) and cycling, walking and watersports festivals from September to October. Discover plenty of attractions to keep the whole family entertained, including Flamingo Park, Robin Hill, Blackgang Chine and the Dinosaur Museum. For the outdoor enthusiast there is golf, watersports, walking, cycling or riding, or visit Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, various NT homes and gardens, animal/wildlife centres, country/adventure parks, Shanklin Chine, Ventnor Botanical Gardens or Calbourne Mill. There are many beaches as well as Bembridge, Ryde with its miles of golden sands, Shanklin, Sandown and Ventnor. Enjoy cream teas in one of the thatched-roof villages, or visit one of the farms, including the Garlic Farm and Lavender Farm. There are also vineyards to sample some island wine, cider or liqueurs. Shop and pub 500 yards.
