Finish off with fresh seafood on the way back in one of the many fine and friendly pubs dotted along the coast. Seahouses known for its fine fish and chips and small working harbour is always a visitor’s favourite. Holy Island is not to be missed but check the tides first or take a boat trip over to the Farne Islands to see the puffins or seals whilst in Seahouses. Embleton village has a friendly pub and restaurant, garage, post office, well-equipped children’s park and magnificent sandy bay. A beach hut is also available to hire in Newton-by-the-Sea (an NT beach) by arrangement with the owner. There is membership of the local, private leisure facilities and guests are welcome to use the pool, gym and spa at cost.
