An internationally recognised nature reserve and the Ystwyth Trail for walkers and cyclists can be accessed directly from the 3-acre garden of this cedar wood holiday bungalow. Glan Gors is set in a Heritage Landscape and is a fantastic place for wildlife, bird watching and riverside walks. The reserve is open to everyone, and its high quality boardwalks provide easy access for walkers and wheelchairs, through a landscape of ponds, lakes and trees. A bird hide, glazed from floor to ceiling, yields a cosy resting place. The 21 mile trail is a disused railway line and is now a Sustrans cycle route. It starts at Glen Gors and connects with Aberystwyth. The Red Kite Visitor Centre is nearby. The picturesque Abergwesyn mountain rouad through the Cambrian mountains starts in Tregaron. This will take you to the Llyn Brianne dam, 14 miles. Within easy reach are the Dolaucothi Gold Mines (National Trust) and the Elan Valley Nature Reserve and Dams. A wealth of attractions nearby include Strata Florida Abbey, Devil’s Bridge Falls, Vale of Rheidol steam railway and an array of woodland walks and hillside walking. Tregaron has a history of being a resting place for drovers since Elizabethan days and is an attractive small town with local shops, inns and restaurants. From here, there is excellent fishing for keen anglers and it is a marvellous centre for visiting a wide area of West Wales. The seaside resort and university town of Aberystwyth, with its pier, promenade, National Library of Wales, University Arts Centre, cinemas and cliff railway is 18 miles to the north-west of Tregaron, all well worth visiting during your stay. At the end of a busy day, whatever the weather Glan Gors offers you the perfect place to relax by the cosy woodburner or in the conservatory and on the terrace overlooking the large attractive gardens. Beach 16 miles. Choice of takeaways 2 miles. Shops, pubs and restaurants 2 miles.
