Only 5 miles from Windermere, these two holiday properties (refs 28652 and 28653) have been converted to a very good standard from an original barn and both retain some of the old beams, feature stunning slate flooring and offer stylish accommodation. Ghyll Bank sits on a hillside offering breathtaking views over the area towards the Lake District hills (Langdales) and down the valley towards Morecambe Bay. The properties are 1½ miles from the picturesque village of Staveley at the foot of the Kentmere Valley. The valley, rich in history, stretches for 10 miles between Staveley and Kentmere Reservoir. There are many footpaths and bridleways close by leading to Brunt Knott, Craggy Wood, Reston Scarr and Kentmere Horseshoe. Other activities include sailing, fishing and cycling, visit the Beatrix Potter museum or take a short drive to the centre of the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales. The village offers shops, restaurants, pubs, bakery and cycle hire. Trains to Windermere and Kendal. Shop, pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.
