Fox Cottage is situated just a short stroll from Helmsley’s picturesque market square. Retaining its original character, this terraced holiday cottage features beamed ceilings, cruck beams and an open fire in a cast iron surround. Holidaymakers will enjoy the proximity of the renowned restaurants, delicatessens, shops and galleries to browse around. In this idyllic location amongst rolling countryside on the edge of Ryedale, Helmsley has an art centre with live-event and film programmes, five acres of walled gardens set beside the backdrop of Helmsley Castle and Duncombe Park, a country estate and home to the International Centre for Birds of Prey. The area is popular for walking and touring, and the Heritage coastline is within easy driving distance across heather-clad moors. From the popular market town of Pickering, the North York Moors Steam train takes visitors to Whitby via the village of Goathland, famous for its ‘Heartbeat’ connections. Not to be missed is the walled city of York, less than an hour’s drive away and packed with historic buildings and world-renowned museums. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 80 yards.
