The detached property has its own private garden situated next to the marina. Fir Trees offers the perfect location for the South Lakes, a short walk along the lake shore using the track known as Cockshot Point will lead guests to the bustling town of Bowness-on-Windemere, with its many shops, pubs and fine restaurants right on the doorstep. Visit the Beatrix Potter museum, or take a leisurely cruise on Lake Windermere. It is just a short drive to the towns of Windermere, Grasmere and Ambleside; visit Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage, explore Grizedale Forest with its Go Ape high wire adventure course, or take the ferry over to Hawkshead and visit Hilltop Farm near Sawrey where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her stories. Haverthwaite Steam Railway, Sizergh Castle, Holker Hall and Levens Hall are all within easy reach. The South Lakes Wild Animal Park at Dalton is a wonderful day out for all the family, as is the Aquarium of the Lakes at Lakeside and Muncaster Castle with its extensive gardens.
