Situated in a remote location on the edge of the rugged Cambrian Mountains, this detached, traditional Welsh cottage, accessed by a rough track (4WD strongly advised), is bursting with charm and original character, making it a perfect holiday base for bird watchers, mountain bikers or walkers looking for an adventure. Felinwynt, dating back to the 17th century, was a former shepherd’s cottage which has been sympathetically restored to uncover all its original features, including stone walls, beams and welcoming touches such as a wood-burning stove for those cosy nights in. The location is truly magnificent and offers peace and tranquillity in abundance, with breathtaking views over the rolling countryside, where red kites soar high. Just a short stroll down to the village of Devil’s Bridge, guests can discover the glistening, world-famous waterfall, as well as a seasonal gift shop, family-run restaurant and the Vale of Rheidol steam railway, which operates daily trips to the popular coastal resort of Aberystwyth. Explore the picturesque Cambrian Mountains and discover the ancient ruins of Strata Florida Abbey, or ramble the numerous trails nestled amongst shimmering lakes and forests. New Quay and Aberaeron are also worth a visit, offering tasteful restaurants and golden beaches, where bottlenose dolphins can be seen on a clear day! Horse riding can also be found locally. Beach 11 miles. Shop and pub 1½ miles.

Beamed, open-plan living/dining room with wood-burning stove and slate floor. Compact, beamed kitchen with slate floor. Double bedroom with 6ft bed. Twin bedroom with additional single bed (for +1). Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Vertical ladder to open galleried area.
