Egmont Lodge (ref 30430) and Hayloft (ref 27032) both stand detached and are adjacent to the owner’s home, with shared use of a hot tub. An ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside including the medieval Cinque Port town of Rye with its cobbled streets, restaurants, tea rooms, art galleries and a well-known hat shop that created the wonderful hats in the film ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’. The Rother Valley also offers a plethora of walking and cycling opportunities, bring your own bikes or hire locally. Within walking distance is the Kent and East Sussex Vintage Steam Railway, which chugs its way through 10½ miles of beautiful countryside, enabling you to visit Tenterden (also known as ‘The Jewel of the Weald’), which was once another thriving Cinque Port town, but now10 miles from the sea. At the other end of the line, is the iconic fairytale moated castle Bodiam, which has changed little in 600 years. No holiday would be complete without a trip to the golden sand dunes at Camber, glorious in the sunshine. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
