Dating back to the 1850s and once a cow shed and dairy, Ddol Cottage is now a homely, semi-detached stone cottage with a cosy wood burner and lovely open views. Situated next door to the owners’ home, this delightful holiday cottage is in a beautiful rural setting and is conveniently located for the attractive towns and villages of Ceredigion’s Heritage Coast; there are glimpses of the sea from your own enclosed cottage garden. The owners are also happy for you to visit the resident donkeys in the neighbouring paddock (children to be supervised).

This is the perfect base for discovering all that the dramatic west Wales coastline has to offer. There are many wonderful cycle routes and walks available, both coastal and inland. The pretty cove of Llangrannog with its beachside pubs, restaurants and cafes is just over three miles away, and within easy reach is the picturesque coastal town of New Quay, once the home to Dylan Thomas. Wander around the quaint streets visiting the appealing shops, cafes and eateries, or sit on the harbour wall with fish and chips or an ice cream, looking out for the frequent visiting bottlenose dolphins. Dolphin and wildlife watching, fishing and boat trips are all available in season.

The area has a wealth of attractions to offer year-round, including several sandy beaches. Tresaith, Penbryn and Mwnt are to name a few, and charming towns are within easy reach including Aberaeron with its Georgian harbour, coloured houses and a peaceful walk that leads to the National Trust property of Llanerchaeron, a rare example of an 18th-century Welsh gentry estate. Visit Cardigan with its castle and the interesting town of Aberystwyth with its promenade. From here you can take the steam train in to the mountains to Devils Bridge. Just a few miles inland there are the falls at Cenarth, where you can watch the trout and salmon swim in the crystal clear waters, or visit the Coracle Museum.
