Nestling in the peaceful Northumberland village of Ovingham, Cosy Little Cottage is the perfect location for guests wishing to enjoy a quiet romantic holiday, and is packed with character and charm. Tucked away out of sight behind the village high street, Cosy Little Cottage offers guests a peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Only a very short walk away, guests will be able to visit the local pub which is renowned for its good food and local hospitality. Situated in the Tyne Valley in southern Northumberland, guests will find an abundance of established public footpaths and cycle routes that lead from the village and beyond into some of the most magnificent countryside around. Only a few miles from the town of Prudhoe, which is home to Prudhoe Castle. Steeped in history and dating back over nine centuries, it was originally home to the Umfravilles before being taken over by the famous Percy family who lovingly restored it. Having survived two sieges during the 1170s, Prudhoe was the only Northumberland castle to resist the Scots. Perfect for a day out, guests will be able to explore the keep, great hall and towered walls as well as enjoying the grounds. Similar nearby attractions include Aydon Castle, Corbridge Roman Town, Hadrian’s wall, Chester’s Roman Fort and Museum, Heddon on the Wall, Belsay Hall, Castle and gardens and Hylton Castle.
