Brightside Cottage is a period, terraced fisherman’s cottage on the south side of Bridlington, close to the Spa and just a 2-minute walk from the award-winning south beach. The living areas are open plan, and the living room has two large twin sofas, a selection of travel books, a TV, DVD and CD player, as well as an electric woodburner. The kitchen is fully fitted also, and the rear courtyard garden is equipped with furniture and a chiminea, plus, there are also locking points where guests can store their bikes, which can be accessed through a rear snicket and locked gate. Bridlington is a superb family holiday base and is packed with fun seaside activities for the kids. Bridlington’s fine promenade is crammed with children’s rides and amusements and the town lays claim to two award-winning sandy beaches which straddle either side of Bridlington’s harbour. Bridlington’s historic harbour area, which bustles particularly in summer, hints at Bridlington’s fishing heritage and the old town area with numerous art galleries and antique shops to further boosts its appeal. Bridlington also offers easy access into the Yorkshire Wolds, made famous by world-renowned artist David Hockney, fantastic for cycling around empty country lanes and bridle ways. Explore some of the beautiful Wold valleys with walking routes. Call in at Danes Dyke nature reserve or Sewerby Hall and Gardens; a historic country house set in acres of beautiful countryside and boasting regular events to keep visitors of all ages happy. The attraction hosts a museum, an art gallery, a children’s play area, a pitch and putt course and a small petting zoo, enough to keep both children and adults busy whatever the weather. The famous RSPB nature reserve at Bempton Cliffs is nearby, where guests can see gannets and puffins in their natural habitat. Guests can also visit Filey and Scarborough, as well as the fabulous North Yorkshire Moors, where a trip to Whitby is a must. This city of York is also within an hour’s drive. Local amenities and the bus and train stations are close by. Beach 250 yards. Shop 10 yards, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
