The nearby town of Corwen (2 miles) has several pubs and cafés, a curry house, a fish and chip shop and a range of food shops. Cynwyd is half-way between Lake Bala and Llangollen, the latter being the home of the International Music Eisteddfod, Valle Crucis Abbey, Llangollen steam railway and the Llangollen Canal, with Thomas Telford’s magnificent Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - a World Heritage Site.
