Surrounded by woodland and attractive gardens in a secluded setting, this detached holiday villa enjoys glimpses of the sea for much of the year. The property also boasts a double bedroom with a remote control pop-up TV at the end of the bed, with built-in DVD player and a Playstation 3. An ideal holiday base to take in the spectacular seascapes, with scenic walks and cycle routes nearby. Island attractions include the Victorian spa and beach resort of Ventnor, 4 miles, and the rugged southern shore with St Catherine’s Lighthouse, 1 mile. Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, and the Needles, with its chair lift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay, are only a short drive away. Other attractions include Ventnor Botanical Gardens, the Isle of Wight Pearl, Dinosaur Isle, a donkey sanctuary and Calbourne Water Mill, which has a 17th century working watermill. Osborne House and Gardens (Queen Victoria’s holiday residence), Carisbrooke Castle and the sailing town of Yarmouth are worthy of a visit. Cowes in the north west of the island is renowned for its sailing, and within easy reach are vineyards and quaint villages. Beach 5 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
