Set in the heart of a pretty village lying between the majestic North Yorkshire Moors and the lovely Dales, this beautifully furnished single storey barn conversion makes a superb holiday base. Boasting a hot tub in its private, Italian style garden with lawned area and country views, it sits just 100 yards from a village pub serving good food. Nearby, at the foot of the Hambleton Hills, the traditional market town of Thirsk, 4 miles, is renowned as the ‘Darrowby’ of the James Herriot books (an interesting museum has now been created from the former veterinary practice) and is also home to a famous racecourse and a cinema. Children especially will love a day out at the Monk Park Farm centre, and the nearby Birds of Prey and Conservation Centre is well worth a visit as is Sion Hill Hall, a neo-Georgian masterpiece built by the ‘Lutyens of the North’. Rievaulx Abbey, Flamingo Land theme park, Eden Camp, Pickering and Castle Howard are all within easy reach and the fascinating city of York is a mere 25 miles distant. Shops 4 miles, pub serving food 100 yards.
