Woodland View is an end-terraced holiday house, set in the heart of the village called Kielder in the Northumberland National Park amongst awe-inspiring landscapes from Kielder Water and Forest Park to the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site. The least populated of all the National Parks, with the cleanest air and rivers. Relax in the enclosed garden with its own summer house after a day exploring or sampling the many local activities. Famed for being England’s first and Europe’s largest, International Dark Sky Park (Gold Tier) where you may see the Milky Way or Andromeda Galaxy with the naked eye. The world class observatory has many stargazing events to entice you or bring along your own telescope or binoculars and try for yourself. For the energetic, the vast array of watersports will keep you busy for hours, or try a guided walk with the voluntary rangers with all levels of ability catered for. Cycling enthusiasts will love the route around the reservoir suitable for the whole family. The Hadrian’s Wall Heritage Site, Britain’s largest and longest ancient monument, is steeped with history with Roman forts and ruins along the way, the perfect area for cyclists and walkers indeed, the whole wall can be followed on a special trail. Sample some of the local produce in the many deli’s and farm shops around the area. Roam free in rolling countryside, visiting quaint villages or head over to bustling Hexham which is dominated by the medieval abbey (built from stone from the nearby Hadrian’s Wall) and the Old Gaol depicts the Border Reivers Story. Don’t miss the Heritage Coast in Northumberland which is well worth a day trip, and explore the fine castles and miles of golden sandy beaches.
