Why not visit the North Yorkshire Moors and catch the steam train from Pickering to Whitby stopping off at Goathland, the setting of the fictional village ‘Aidensfield’ in the popular TV series ‘Heartbeat’. For walkers, there is the Cleveland Way, which goes right along the coast with some breath-taking views and dramatic coastline. Shop, pub and restaurant 800 yards.
