A beautifully positioned property in a peaceful holiday location on the Powys/South Shropshire borders. The property is a fine example of a Grade II listed Arts and Crafts country house, once home to the high sheriff of Radnorshire - James Thomas Jackson, who has quite literally put his stamp on the property by commissioning a number of items such as the spectacular oak staircase, the fire surround and the walk-in safe. The fire surround is in the dining room, and has a copper canopy with his initials. Located in the grounds of the owner’s home, this property is great for a large family get together (as a number of the rooms are family style), or groups wanting a central position within the UK to get together. Both the formal living room and dining room have open fires, and the second living room has a cosy woodburning stove. The large gardens and terrace are well-maintained, there is a covered veranda to the front of the property, a croquet lawn with scope for tennis and badminton, and a peaceful lake at the foot of the garden. Offas Dyke path is approximately 1½ miles away with the heritage centre in nearby Knighton, a rally school, and shooting range within 1½ miles, and Bucknell adventure centre is 6 miles away. Ludlow with its castle, racecourse and river, Shrewsbury, Clun, Long Mynd and Cardingmill Valley on the Shropshire side are an easy drive. Brecon, mid Wales and Herefordshire offer spectacular scenery alongside quaint towns and villages. In addition these borderlands play host to a number of National Trust properties and stately/historic houses; Attingham Park, Powys Castle, Stokesay Castle, Chirk and Erddig to name but a few are all easily accessible. Shop and restaurant 3½ miles, pub 1½ miles.
