Nestled in rural Norfolk and enjoying a great position from which to explore all that the county has to offer, this period, single-storey stable conversion, adjacent to the owners’ home, offers cosy and welcoming holiday accommodation. The village of Cranworth is an ancient settlement and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book, and The Old Stables is situated in the manicured grounds of Clay Cottage, which is itself a listed building. With plenty to do in every direction, you really will be spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting what to do next. Thetford Forest, with its patchwork of pine, heathland and broad leaves, offers forest trails, walks and cycle rides, and of course, the opportunity to enjoy nature and the local wildlife. The Norfolk Broads are also within reach for a day trip and you can hire a launch or join a charter and explore along with a guide. For those seeking more coastal pursuits, head to Hunstanton with its beach that goes on for miles and all the fun of the fair. Alternatively, visit Wells-next-the-Sea with its narrow gauge railway and picturesque quay. Try and squeeze in a visit to the medieval city of Norwich, with its proud Norman castle, numerous museums and great places to shop and eat, you won’t be disappointed. There are some great fishing opportunities around too and the owner of The Old Stables is able to arrange fishing trips and can also provide a bait fridge and freezer. For cat owners who wish to take their cat(s) with them on holiday, there is a cattery at Clay Cottage where you can board your cat (at cost, subject to availability). There are numerous National Trust properties and stately homes, great walks and cycle paths, and bird and wildlife watching opportunities, you’ll see why Norfolk is so popular. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 3½ miles.
