The Old Chapel is very comfortable and well-equipped and makes a perfect location for a relaxing and fun-filled holiday, ideal for 12 adults and 4 children. Just a 15 minutes’ walk down a bridle path that leads from the front door of the chapel will take guests into the car park of the Eden Project – impressive geodesic domes filled with flora from around the world. For another pleasant day out the Lost Garden of Heligan is easily accessible.
Nearby, the harbour of Charlestown has a Shipwreck and Heritage Centre that charts a fascinating history of fishing, wrecks, mining and migration to North America. It has its own beach, whilst St Austell Bay offers outstanding cliff and coastal scenery with beaches at Carlyon Bay, Porthpean, Pentewan and Par. Across the water, tucked into the hillside between Par and Fowey, the small, picturesque harbour of Polkerris has a sandy beach and is an excellent place for swimming with good, clean waters.
