This holiday cottage sits in the middle of one of Cornwall’s prettiest and most historic villages and is ideally placed just yards from the village square. The beach at Crantock is ideal for swimming, surfing, kite surfing and wind surfing. The beach is bordered by dunes and the tidal River Gannel Estuary, a haven for wildlife, and is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beach is owned by the National Trust and has a car park and a delightful cove known as ’Polly Joke’. The nearby South West Coastal Path provides an excellent way to see the dramatic north Cornish coastline. Newquay, 3 miles, is famed for its surf lifestyle and also has a zoo, aquarium, beach restaurants, riding stables and 2 ten pin bowling alleys. Ideally located for touring the dramatic North Cornwall coastline and beyond. Padstow (home to Rick Stein’s Food Empire) is 15 miles away and is a fine example of a working fishing port. Truro with its cathedral, theatre, cinema, museum, shops, pubs, cafes and river trips is 12 miles, and 40 minutes away is the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and many attractions including go-cart track and mini steam railway. Jamie Oliver’s ’15’ restaurant is just 5 miles at Watergate Bay, a large expanse of sand which is home to the National Kite Surfing Centre, a beach bar and pub. The Camel Trail, a former railway track, provides an excellent walk and cycle route which hugs the coast of the Camel Estuary and river and links the towns of Padstow and Wadebridge. Bike hire can be found in both towns. Shop 25 yards, pub and restaurant 150 yards.
