Lowestoft's south beach either side of the Claremont Pier has great stretches of soft, golden sand and are immensely popular with locals and tourists alike. The Marina Theatre has been a part of the cultural scene of Lowestoft since the 1897 and continues to this day to be a focal point for entertainment in the town. The theatre hosts a diverse and interesting range of programmes that incorporates West End musicals, top comedians, plays, pantomimes, cinema screenings and much more. It also holds the distinguished honour of being a residence of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, being one of only two venues outside London to hold this honour.
