This late Victorian semi detached house overlooks Peasholm Park and lake and is a short stroll to sandy beaches. Scarborough offers pleasure cruises, speed boat and fishing trips, Sea Life Centre, North Bay Railway, theatre, shopping and cliff top castle and walks. Ideal for exploring the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast. It is only a short drive to Whitby (about 18 miles), from where you can board the North Yorkshire Moors steam train through the glorious Esk Valley to Goathland and Pickering. Visit Whitby Abbey, climb the 199 steps to St Mary’s church, explore the narrow cobbled streets and individual shops or discover the history of Captain James Cook. Whitby is also famous for Bram Stoker’s ’Dracula’, and has 3 miles of beautiful sandy beaches stretching to the pretty seaside village of Sandsend. The North Yorkshire Moors National Park is just a 3 mile drive, with walking and cycling. Also worth a visit is Robin Hood’s Bay, with tightly packed, red-roofed cottages clinging to the cliif; explore the narrow, winding cobbled streets and at low tide, you can enjoy the beach or maybe some fossil hunting. Staithes is a little further afield but also a picturesque fishing village worth a visit. A short journey inland will take you to the Hole of Horcum, a vast natural crater atop the North Yorkshire Moors, waiting to be explored, or the market town of Pickering with its street market and individual shops. Going south from Scarborough is Filey with miles of sandy beaches, or Bridlington with its harbour, vast sea front and shops galore. Shops and restaurants 150 yards, pub 300 yards. Can be booked with ref 27026 to accommodate up to 14 guests.
