The 50-acres of grounds with spectacular views over Bridlington Bay include the award-winning landscaped gardens and numerous woodland walks, with a huge variety of wildlife. Children will love the fascinating collection of animals, particularly the penguins, which can be found in the zoo. The estate offers souvenir shops, a 9-hole pitch ’n’ putt golf course, 18-hole putting green and a children’s play area. The Clock Tower Tea Rooms (closed until June 2014) and the Stables Gift Shop both offer a 10% discount (selected items) to visitors staying in the cottages. A short walk leads to the beach or alternatively board the land train for a cliff top journey to Leisure World with its wave pool and water slides. The traditional resort of Bridlington appeals to all ages with its bustling harbour, historic Old Town, The Spa Bridlington and miles of sandy beaches. Local places of interest include Flamborough with its famous lighthouse , RSPB Bempton Nature Reserve with unrivalled views of puffins, guillemots and kittiwakes whilst inland lie the scenic Yorkshire Wolds, inspiration for the famous paintings of David Hockney.
