Ideally located in the delightful village of Hambledon, a few steps from the traditional store and local inn, this charming holiday cottage is attached to the owner’s Grade II listed Georgian home. The area has miles of scenic walks within the Meon Valley and the South Downs. Nearby is the quaint village of West Meon, where Thomas Lord, the founder of cricket rests. Within about half an hour’s drive are Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, Nelson’s Victory, the Mary Rose, waterside dining, extensive designer shopping, and ferry trips to the Isle of Wight, Winchester Cathedral, Southampton with its extensive maritime history, the vast heathland walks/riding in The New Forest, historic Chichester with cathedral and festival theatre, beaches at the Witterings or Hayling Island, the Watercress steam train, Jane Austen’s house and Gilbert White’s house. Also within easy reach is The New Forest with Beaulieu Motor Museum, Exbury Gardens, Birdworld and Marwell Zoo. London is about an hour by train from nearby Petersfield. Golf, fishing, horse riding, cycling and walking routes are all close by. Beach 13 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
