Enjoying a rural location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in the glorious Sussex countryside, Holly Cottage is a semi-detached, two storey renovated Sussex barn. Equipped to a very good standard, where 21st century facilities combine with character and charm. Located in the owner’s parkland grounds, close to a lake with footpaths from the doorstep leading into the woods and adjoining farmland, making it an ideal spot for walkers and birdwatchers. Spot the buzzards, nightingales, cuckoos and woodpeckers, alongside the deer, foxes, badgers and pheasants. Cyclists are also catered for with easy access to National Cycle route 21 – The Cuckoo Trail which follows the former Cuckoo Line railway for 14 miles from Heathfield to Eastbourne. The South Downs National Park offers 1,813 km of footpaths and 1,213 km of bridleways. Herstmonceux Observatory enables the chance to join an open evening and study the night sky, a plethora of National Trust properties and gardens including Rudyard Kipling’s home at Batemans and Sheffield Park Gardens make for great days out. Golf is within a 10-minute drive, and there are good connections to London by train from Stonegate or Etchingham stations. The village of Cowbeech is within a 10-minute stroll with a local pub and restaurant. Gatwick Airport is approximately a 40-minute drive. Beach 12 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
