Situated at the very head of Weardale in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The awesome beauty of this area truly lies at your feet at the aptly named Hill Top. The ascent to this stunning location is well worth the climb and a sense of ‘getting away from it all’ prevails. If the outdoors is your playground by car, on foot or pedal power, you will find yourself at the very centre of so many opportunities here. Set on the southern flank of Killhope Law, this holiday cottage (adjoining the owner’s home) is accessed by a rough track and is about 1800ft (550m) above sea level. This makes it one of the highest altitude accommodation properties in the country with views to match, and features a Juliet balcony accessed from the first floor living/dining room. The house has wonderful views across the Durham Dales and beyond, with many wonderful walks and attractions right on your doorstep. Popular attractions include Kilhope Mine, the Force Waterfall, the historic market town of Barnard Castle, Bowes Museum and Durham Cathedral, as well as Penrith and the Yorkshire Dales all within one hours’ drive.
