Other places to visit via ferry include Mull of Kintyre, Arran, Gigha and Islay, which are accessed via different departure ports, some of which are just a 40-minute drive away. Kilmartin Glen is steeped in history with fabulous Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments. Travel south to Kintyre Peninsula, with beautiful white sandy beaches, fabulous golf courses and a variety of watersports. There are woodland walks, cycle paths, horse riding and sea kayaking nearby. The picturesque yachting villages of Tayvallich and Crinan are within a 20-minute drive. Oban, a bustling harbour town, known as ’the gateway to the Isles’, is an hour’s drive away and Inveraray is home to a historic jail and castle.
