The ferries to Arran, Isle of Bute and Isle of Cumbrae are all within an hour and Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park can be reached in an hour and a half. The cosmopolitan city of Glasgow is easily reached within an hour with the historic city of Edinburgh just a little further for a day trip.
