With far-reaching views to the Dee Estuary and the Galloway Hills beyond, this spacious, detached cottage offers extensive secluded gardens. Complete with a small orchard and pond, the mature landscaped gardens are a haven for wildlife, with pheasants, woodpeckers and a variety of small birds amongst the regular visitors. Featuring a beautiful garden room, a well-equipped kitchen and spectacular views from both the comfortable living room and more formal dining room, Belmont provides a peaceful holiday retreat within walking distance of the town centre. Kirkcudbright - known as the ‘Artists’ Town’ - hosts a wealth of coffee shops and art galleries and is a short walk from the impressive ruins of Maclellans Castle. There are many festivals throughout the year including Scottish nights, classic car rallies, historic walks, a medieval fayre, a jazz festival and a spectacular tattoo. Kirkcudbright sits on the edge of the Galloway Hills and on the estuary of the River Dee and offers many outdoor pursuits including fishing, horse riding in Galloway Forest Park, cycling and golf. Threave Garden and Estate is owned by the National Trust and proves to be a popular visitors’ attraction. Dumfries is approximately 25 miles to the east and Castle Douglas is 8 miles, making this a wonderful base from which to tour South West Scotland. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
